Antares Cheng
Chairman
Antares Cheng is one of the industry’s most successful travel retailers. The Chairman of King Power Group – Hong Kong and King Power Traveler, Cheng leads the organization headquartered in Hong Kong, with Travel Retail operations in Asia including Hong Kong, Macau, mainland China, Japan and Singapore. Antares brings with him a vast knowledge and expertise of Travel Retail with particular emphasis on the Asian operating environment and its customers.
Rakhita Jayawardena, CMgr FCMI, FCIM
President
KPT is managed by Rakhita Jayawardena, who is recognized as one of the most knowledgeable and experienced individuals in the inflight retailing industry. Rakhita has held positions as President of Inflight Duty Free Shops New York, USA (IDFS) (The former largest global inflight operator) and Managing Director of Alpha Onboard Sales and Services UK (AOBSS).
Amongst his many accolades, Rakhita was invited to become the First President of the Asia Pacific Travel Retail Association (APTRA). APTRA is the voice of retailers, brand suppliers, travel retail landlords, and National Associations in the Asia Pacific region and the Asian representative on the Duty Free World Council. Further he has also served as the Chairman of Asia Pacific On- board Travel (APOT), the region’s foremost representative group for professionals in the Airline Hospitality, Services and Supply Industry.
Rakhita Jayawardena served as a member of the Board of Directors of Srilankan Airlines, Mihin Lanka and Srilankan Catering. He also served as the CEO of Srilankan Airlines, Mihin Lanka and Director in Charge of Srilankan Catering.
OUR INFLIGHT EXPERIENCE
Rakhita Jayawardena, currently the President of King Power Traveler (KPT) in Hong Kong, previously held positions as the President of Inflight Duty Free Shop (IDFS) in New York, USA (formerly the largest global inflight operator), President of Alpha Onboard Sales and Services (AOBSS) in the UK, and General Manager of Inflight Duty Free Services at Air Lanka.
